My first trip of the year! When hubs has to travel for work, you tag along to get in a date night.
We have an ongoing joke between our besties that you have to try the world's best whenever it's advertised. Rarely is it ever the best.
To get to AC, you fly into Philadelphia then drive about an hour over. We stopped in Glassboro to eat at the popular Chickie's and Pete's. So full. So good. Crab cakes belong on top of burgers + fried crab Mac and cheese, crab fries, a pomegranate margarita. And a stock pot wash sink = brilliant
Happy national bagel day! Breakfast (Hot Bagels & More) reminded me of my days working at Panera Bread. Every time the baker would bring out fresh bagels you had to yell “hot bagels!” Hehe. I cannot recommend this place based on my selections. It was "eh".
COVID travel can just be down right weird. It was off season when I walked the Atlantic City Boardwalk but it was pretty desolate. A lot of stores looked permanently closed. There was one single food vendor open. I imagine there’s normally more than just a handful of people here. Think the water is cold?!?
A friend and local recommended we try a hundred year old restaurant for date night. We couldn't get the name straight: the Knife and Fork Inn or the Fork and Knife. Either way the ambience was spot on. The steak was top tier, flounder with crab meat was to die for. Pineapple martini was delish. Wedge salad was over dressed and hard pass on the lobster risotto.
